Crave Kitchen’s Chef Landen To New York

cheflandenCrave Kitchen & Cocktail’s Chef Landen Ganstrom has been invited to New York for a night of metropolitan culinary delight at The James Beard House, February 23rd.

Anointed the “dean of American cookery” by the New York Times in 1954, James Beard laid the groundwork for the food revolution that has put America at the forefront of global gastronomy.  The James Beard Foundation is at the center of America’s culinary community, dedicated to exploring the way food enriches lives. Beard is the central figure in the story of the establishment of a gourmet American food identity.   Said Julia Child, ” “Beard was the quintessential American cook.”

At the James Beard House, Landen will join his former chef colleague, Scott Mickelson, chef at The  Foxwood Resort’s Paragon Restaurant in Las Vegas.

Dedicated to fostering and advancing American Cuisine, the James Beard House is a beacon of inspiration for chefs.  For chefs like Landen and Scott, the opportunity to cook there is not only an honor but a chance to give back to the profession.

“I’m jazzed to be able to reunite with Scott in the kitchen,” says Landen.  “I worked under Scott and know he’s an incredible chef and mentor.  A number of my friends are now with The Paragon and it’ll be fun to see what new innovative cooking influences I’ll bring home to Mt Pleasant.  I’ll be working with the best of the best.”

“I’ll pick up a huge amount of culinary creativity in this one night.  Experiences like this re-ignite passions and creativity.  I promise to offer something special at Crave Kitchen in the near future which I pick up at the the Beard House.”
